The Greenwood Pre-School is a registered charity which is run by Trustees and a Committee. It is a traditional Pre-school which aims to meet the needs of all children in our care, in accordance with their stage of development, and to value them as individuals, whilst providing a safe, happy and secure environment for them, regardless of their sex, ethnicity, religion or abilities. We work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop.

It is our aim to offer solid foundations in a family oriented environment where children and parents feel welcomed and valued.
From a friendly welcome to a cheery goodbye, you can be confident that at The Greenwood Pre-School there will be lots of challenging, fun activities to inspire and develop the children in our care.
Being active and playing supports young children's learning and development through doing and talking. This is how children learn to think about and understand the world around them. We use the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory guidance on education programmes to plan and provide opportunities which will help children to make progress in all areas of learning. This curriculum is made up of a mixture of activities that children plan and organise themselves and activities planned and let by practitioners.

We offer bi-weekly music and movement sessions with Heather from Music with Mummy.
Heather is a trained singer and is passionate about giving children great musical experiences using tracks to sing along to, the opportunity to dance and the use of musical instruments.
Subject to change.

We offer a broad spectrum of experiences for the children to enjoy and learn from.
Some that we have offered in the past are:
Feathers & Furs
Zoolab
Holistic Hounds
Librarian
The Fire Service
Road Safety Ranger Visit
Community Police Visit
The children get to hold and stroke animals and ask our visitors about their job.

Bucket Time is a fun, structured group activity where children gather together to watch and take part in exciting, carefully planned experiences using motivating toys and resources. These short sessions are designed to build focus, encourage turn-taking, and develop shared attention in a calm and engaging way.
Through Bucket Time, children learn to enjoy learning alongside others, follow simple instructions, and grow in confidence within a group setting.

Our sensory tent allows children to enjoy some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of our main activities room.
The tranquil surroundings and colours provides some calmness.

Our Preschool Stay and Play sessions invite parents and carers to join their children in a fun, supportive setting. It's a great opportunity to meet staff, make new friends, and experience the activities we offer every day.

We offer a variety of books and puzzles for the children to borrow.
